My Good Luck Charm Print

This piece has actual bodhi tree leaves incorporated into the background. I used to travel with these leaves and keep them with me every place I went while in college. They have been all over the country with me, and in several of my living spaces at those times. I considered them my "good luck charms" and they reminded me of my spiritual connection to nature and the beautiful bodhi tree. I wanted to share my "good luck charms" with the world, so that whoever sees and is around this painting will experience some of it too. I've always considered trees to be sacred, mystical, full of wonder, ancient wisdom, and associated with fairies. So I depicted a woman with dragonfly fairy wings to express my childhood spirit and the connection between humanity and nature. I felt drawn to include both the bodhi tree and the fairy spirit to symbolize coexistence and the mutual respect we share for one another.
